Captain Jeff Steckler is a U.S. Coast Guard Certified Captain and a Texas Parks & Wildlife licensed fishing guide. He has been on the water his entire life...literally.  When he was only a few years old, Captain Jeff began going with is Dad on commercial shrimping and fishing vessels.

As he grew older, Captain Steckler began working and learning the ways of the water. He has captained shrimp boats, run commercial trout-line boats, oystered, and deck-handed offshore on a private charter boat, the 'High Bid'.

Commercial Catch

Most importantly he learned to gig flounder commercially from a true "old timer."  At about fourteen Billy Blevans began taking Jeff with him on his commercial floundering boat.

Captain Jeff Steckler has spent countless hours under stars and moonlight learning the ways of the mysterious flat fish.
